Fireworks and Illumination of the Carcassonne Citadel 🏰

We are fortunate to host one of the most beautiful fireworks displays in France on July 14th. Taking place at the historic site of the medieval City of Carcassonne, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the spectacle illuminates the ancient ramparts and towers. The fireworks create a spectacular visual effect, giving the impression that the fortress is on fire, immersing spectators in the history of this iconic monument.

Each year, the event attracts between 100,000 and 150,000 visitors, including locals and tourists from across France and abroad. This impressive turnout makes it one of the largest gatherings for July 14th in France.

This year, the fireworks display was exceptional, combining the tradition of July 14th with the celebration of the Paris 2024 Olympics. The show skillfully integrated Olympic elements with traditional festivities, offering an impressive visual performance. The pyrotechnics highlighted the colors and symbols of the Games, creating a dynamic and innovative spectacle.

The fireworks attracted around 120,000 visitors, significantly boosting local tourism with a notable increase in hotel, restaurant, and shop patronage. Visitors also had the opportunity to explore Carcassonne, reinforcing its reputation as a top tourist destination.

To fully experience this magic, stay at L’Écrin Grand Panorama, our 5-star accommodation located on the hill overlooking the City and just 200 meters from the ramparts. You'll enjoy a breathtaking view of the spectacle while relaxing in luxurious comfort, making your experience even more memorable.
